Cooper Marsh Eco-Photo Contest
Candy Pollard

Summer may be coming to a close but that only serves to heighten opportunities for spectacular photographs to be taken at Cooper Marsh Conservation Area & Visitors Centre. Whether it’s the indigenous wildlife or the quickly developing fall colours, these breathtaking snapshots are readily available.

Several submissions are currently being reviewed but the Cooper Marsh Conservators (CMC) are encouraging everyone to come out and experience the site for themselves. Bring your camera and take part in the 2007 Eco-Photo contest embracing the theme of “Ours to protect”.

All photos must be taken at Cooper Marsh and submitted prior to the 31st of October 2007. Participate in the “Youth” (16 years of age and under as of the 1st of June 2007) or the “Open” (all ages) category.

Each photo must be accompanied by a short commentary or description (in prose or in verse) highlighting how the theme has been “captured” in the photograph.

Entry forms are available at all S.D. & G. County Libraries, the Cooper Marsh Visitors’ Centre located at the Marsh, and at the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) administration building at Gray’s Creek Conservation Area & Marina complex. Entries may be dropped off at these same locations.

Remember! Cooper Marsh is “Ours to protect” and “Ours to enjoy” and “Ours to share”.
