Entertainment At The Pavillion
Candy Pollard

With a successful run of the play A Seaway Story ending on Sunday, August 3, the St. Lawrence Parks Commission has announced that a full line-up of musical entertainment will start playing on weekends at the new Ontario Power Generation Community Pavilion beginning on Saturday, August 9 through September 27.

“We are really committed to introducing new entertainment options for our boaters, campers and other visitors to the region as well as for local residents to enjoy,” said Pat Macdonald, General Manager & CEO of the Commission. “Providing a mix of musical entertainers – everything from Rock to Folk to Broadway music – that will have a broad audience appeal is an approach we are taking this year to see what people like. Also, we are really focused on showcasing local talent. There are some really talented performers locally and we are proud to have a great new venue in which to showcase them to our visitors.”

St. Lawrence Acoustic Stage Company closes out the season on Saturday, September 27 with their annual showcase of performers.

The Ontario Power Generation Community Pavilion is located across from Crysler Park Marina and the Marker 72 Dockside Patio off County Road 2 just west of Upper Canada Village (award-winning 1860s village featuring over 100 costumed interpreters and over 40 heritage buildings) and the Upper Canada Golf Course (Golf Digest 3-star highly rated course), approximately 11 km (7 miles) east of Morrisburg and 29 km (18 miles) west of Cornwall. The Pavilion and the Marina’s new Marker 72 Dockside Patio recently received a Liquor Licence and alcoholic beverages are now available for service at both the Pavilion and the Patio. To access these areas, take Exit 758 off Highway 401, and head 1 km south to County Road 2 and head east 2 km. All of these attractions are just 60 minutes southeast of Ottawa and 90 minutes west of Montreal. The Marina is 75 minutes east of Kingston and a short drive from the U.S. border (Massena, New York).

Most performance times are at 8:00 pm but times may vary so visitors should check the website at www.parks.on.ca for updates and for a full line-up of performers, show dates and ticket outlet locations or call the Commission’s Customer Service Unit at 1-800-437-2233 or 613-543-4328 locally.
