The Candy Report
Last Weekend For Glen Productions Current Show
Candy Pollard
Glen Productions will present Norm Foster's THE LONG WEEKEND, November 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, and 22, 2008. The show is being guest-directed by AnnaMarie Lea. AnnaMarie has her own company, the Cow Patti Theatre Company, and she has acted many seasons at Upper Canada Playhouse, most recently, this summer, in Wally's Cafe, and Out of Order.
"The Long Weekend" is the story of two couples who have been "friends" for fifteen years. One couple, Max and Wynn, own a beautiful cottage, (Island 17 style), and invite their friends, Roger and Abby, to come see the cottage and stay the weekend. The Long Weekend is blissfully old-fashioned, the kind of comedy that used to keep Broadway happy for years. There's just enough sex, just enough smart talk, just enough preposterous plot twists to keep you titillated. We are fortunate to have obtained four excellent actors from auditions. The first couple, Max and Wynn, will be played by Michael Petrynka and Krystal Lalonde. The second couple, Roger and Abby, will be played by Kevin Kennedy and Lacie Petrynka. Sounds like a good bet.
Wednesday, November 19th, will be a benefit performance for the Alzheimer's Society. Many of us have friends or relatives that have been touched by this condition. If so, this might be the night for you to attend.
