July features Kinsmen Cornwall Lift-Off Hot Air Balloon Festival - the only one held in Ontario! Not only will you be able to see the balloons up close and watch as they prepare to take flight, you can even book a ride (for a fee). The Lift-off festival also features open air concerts - the headliners in the lineup this year include Amanda Marshall and Finger Eleven. A festival armband is $20 per person which provides admission to all entertainment. Talk about value!
Country Fairs are plentiful in the summer and each has its own feature, like a demolition derby, talent contest, ball tournament, equestrian events and more. Of course each one provides great family fun with a midway, games of chance, entertainment, holstein shows and much more.
The Glengarry Highland Games take place in early August and feature the North American Pipe Band Championships, Celtic athletic events like the Caber Toss, individual piping, drumming and highland dancing competitions. The pre games tattoo on Friday evening is always a great time with fabulous entertainment.
Professional summer theatre at Upper Canada Playhouse features 4 different comedy productions that are not to be missed. It's a laugh a minute that should not be missed.
Upper Canada Village features a wide range of special events including the 1860's style wedding and funeral, gardening weekends and more. The campgrounds in the area feature special weekend activities like reptile shows, concerts, pirate weekends, and even Christmas in July!
