Help Add Cornwall To The Monopoly Board
Vote Cornwall onto the new Monopoly Game Board!
Hasbro, maker of the popular Monopoly board game, is launching a new “Canada Edition” of the game.
There are 22 spots up for grabs on
the board, which will carry the names
of Canadian cities and towns. Hasbro
has decided to let the fans vote
which City will appear on the game.
Cornwall did not make the initial list
of 65 nominees, but people can vote
the city in as a "wildcard" city! On February 8, the top 10 wildcard cities will officially join the
group of cities in the running for the 22 spots.
“If Cornwall makes it onto the Monopoly game board, it will be a big boost to enhancing the City’s profile amongst Canadians”, said Mayor Bob Kilger. “I would encourage everybody to vote. It is a fun way for every citizen to pitch in and boost Cornwall!”
Local radio hosts Sue Stewart and Jimmy Kalaitzis of Variety 104.5 got the ball rolling this morning and Team Cornwall and the Chamber are also expected to rally their members to the cause.
“The first step is to get Cornwall into the top 10 of wildcard cities before February 8th”, added Mayor Kilger. “Now is the time to vote!”
