Summer is finally here and so is the Queen’s birthday! Celebrate Victoria Day Weekend with these 6 fun activities:

  1. Go to an art exhibition

    • Enjoy Focus Art, an exhibition of visual art with works of over 50 artists
    • Vote for your favourite painting for a chance to win a $25 giftcard

  2. Eat some delicious poutine

    • Enjoy a new four-day poutine festival (May 18-21) in beautiful Lamoureux Park
    • The Poutine Feast will feature approximately 10 poutine vendors

  3. Go see a play

    • Go watch a Tony Award winner for Best Play on May 18th or May 19th starting at 7:30pm.
    • “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” is brought to you by the Seaway Valley Theatre Company
    • Admission is $20, and the play will take place at l’École secondaire publique L’Héritage

  4. Time to escape!

    • Experience life behind bars! Escape Manor returns with Escape the Cornwall Jail, an interactive experience set in one of Cornwall’s most historic landmarks! Inspired by various real occurrences at the jail, your gang of prisoners must find a way to escape and avoid the gallows while a colourful cast of real-life characters provides twists along the way

    •  Rush Hour Escapes at 52 Pitt Street (upstairs from Echo Trends) is also welcoming visitors. Rush Hour features two different escape rooms – Gallery Heist and CSI: Cornwall Murder – with groups of 2-8 working together to find clues and crack the codes to escape in time

  5. Go see some racing

    • Enjoy edge-of-your-seat racing action at Cornwall Motor Speedway, one of the premier dirt track facilities in North America!
    • Witness the first round of the 2018 race season on May 20th and May 21st

  6. Discover our past

    • Join in the celebration as Upper Canada Village, an 1860s Village, celebrates Queen Victoria’s birthday! Sing “God Save the Queen”, hear historical patriotic speeches, see grand military manoeuvres, lace up for the 1860s athletic games, watch the Village’s “Queen” in action (a hand-pumped fire engine), and enjoy a piece of birthday cake.

    • The Cornwall Community Museum in Lamoureux Park is launching its new 1959 Royal Visit / Seaway Exhibit on Sunday, May 20th from 1 pm to 4 pm. This Seaway Royal Tour Collection is perhaps the most complete cross-section of souvenirs, collectibles and memorabilia produced specifically for the 1959 tour. Stop by and see it for yourself!
