Firefighters Go Head-to-Head
Cornwall, ON – July 11, 2017 – Who doesn’t love watching people go head-to-head for a challenge? I certainly do. I love watching all kinds of TV shows where people compete against one another. I probably have just as much adrenaline watching the competitors as they do when they actually compete. If you’re like me then this is something you won’t want to miss!
On Saturday July 15th, the 11th Annual Ingleside Firefighter Challenge will be held in front of Ingleside Shopping Plaza. The Ingleside Firefighter’s Association is hosting the event and is sending invites to all neighbouring fire departments in SD&G.
Firefighters will compete in a challenge meant to simulate the first few minutes of a fire. They will have to showcase their skills by forcible entry, hose pulls, victim drag, ladder climbing and more!
But don’t worry, this isn’t just an event for firefighters; there’s fun for the whole family! The event will include a BBQ, a beer garden, pony rides, face painting, a children’s firefighter challenge, live music and more. Best of all, everything is free! (Donations will be accepted, and all proceeds will go to the Ingleside Firefighter’s Association)

Christmas spirit is alive and well in Cornwall and the Counties as Upper Canada Village's Alight at Night and The Alexandria Festival of Lights prepare to light up the region with their spectacular displays of Christmas lights.
One of the most fascinating displays of culture occurs at the Akwesasne International Powwow. On September 6 - 7, celebrate the traditions of the First Nation people.
