The City of Cornwall is steeped in a rich and diverse history. Originally named New Johnstown, the name was changed to Cornwall in honour of Prince George, the Duke of Cornwall.
Cornwall was first settled in 1784, 83 years before Confederation, making it one of Canada’s oldest settlements.
