Celebrate Canada Day with massive celebration in Cornwall’s Lamoureux Park

Cornwall’s Lamoureux Park will be buzzing with music and activities on Sunday, July 1st in celebration of Canada’s birthday.

The annual Canada Day celebration will feature a full day of music, children’s activities and other festivities culminating with a spectacular fireworks display at 10 pm.

Lamoureux Park will be the main hub for the Canada Day celebrations, with live performances taking place at the Lion’s Club Bandshell along the St. Lawrence River.

Here’s a full breakdown of the events:

Children’s Tent
11 am to 5 pm   Face painting/ juggler
11 am to 4 pm   Home Depot building center
11 am to 6 pm   8 Bouncy castles for all ages
1 pm   Little Rays Reptiles
2:45 pm   Paw Pal Show (on main stage)

Fireworks
The fireworks will begin at approximately 10 pm – bring a lawnchair or blanket and enjoy the show!

Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides
Weather permitting, Skyward Balloons will be tethering a hot air balloon in Lamoureux Park (west of the museum) at 6:30 pm on Canada Day. The limited tickets for the event have already sold out however if additional ones become available it will be posted on the Cornwall Tourism Facebook page – so keep an eye out! Come and see the magic of a hot air balloon taking flight!

St. Lawrence River Cruises
Cornwall Cruising is offering a series of two-hour cruises on Canada Day from Marina 200. A limited number of spots are still available for the 3:30 pm and 6 pm cruises. Tickets are $20 each (cash only) and must be purchased in advance at the Cornwall Tourism Visitor Centre in the Cornwall Community Museum in Lamoureux Park. The centre is open daily from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Free Cornwall Transit shuttle
Cornwall Transit will offer a free shuttle bus on Canada Day from 11 am to 11 pm to help residents and visitors get to the park to take in the festivities! For the full schedule and shuttle route, please click here.

Souvenirs
Looking for a special souvenir to mark the holiday? Stop by our Visitor Centre in the Cornwall Community Museum in Lamoureux Park and check out our Cornwall souvenirs! We have t-shirts, mugs and other fun items to mark the occassion. The Visitor Centre is open daily from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Cash only.
