Cornwall and the Counties Enter Trade Show Season
Cornwall, ON – March 1, 2015 – Undoubtedly online and digital marketing are essential for getting your message out (duh!—you’re reading this online right now!), however there is something to be said about face-to-face interaction. When you’re passionate about something, it’s always great to add that personal touch of actual conversation. Enter trade shows.
Cornwall and the Counties Tourism attends three trade shows each year, The Montreal Bicycle Show, The Outdoor Adventure Show in Ottawa, and the Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show. These trade shows are pivotal for us to reach our target audiences, and get our message out to the people who want it.
We recently brought our message to the Montreal Bicycle Show February 13-15, and once again were thrilled with the enthusiasm and interest we were met with by attendees. We had some great conversations, distributed our 2015 Travel Guide and Cycle Maps and are looking forward to bringing more visitors to our neck of the woods in 2015.
If you didn’t catch us at the Montreal Bicycle Show, don’t fret, we’re not done bringing our message on tour. Ottawa, we’re coming to see you, and we want you come say hello!
The Outdoor Adventure Show
(March 21-22, Sat. 10:00am – 6:00pm, Sun. 10:00am – 5:00pm)
Our next stop is the Outdoor Adventure Show, held at the EY Centre in Ottawa. This is the must-see event for all you outdoor enthusiasts, and a must attend for Cornwall and the Counties Tourism.
Our region is chock full of awesome reasons to get outside. We have dozens of campsites, hundreds of kilometres of nature trails and cycling loops, sandy beaches, and beautiful parks. It’s part of what makes our region so desirable as a day trip destination for nearby big cities like Ottawa, Montreal, Kingston, etc. Thousands attend this trade show, and we always have great opportunities to talk about ourselves to people who are looking for precisely what our region has to offer: ample opportunities for outdoor excitement!
The show gives visitors a chance to experience cool demonstrations and exhibits of all the latest and greatest in outdoor recreation, a chance to listen to keynote speakers and experts about outdoor activity, and of course, learn about places nearby that you can experience all kinds of awesome outdoor adventures. This is where we come in, and we hope to be able to chat with as many attendees as possible.
The Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show
(March 28-29, 10:00am – 5:00pm)
Our next trade show we will attend in 2015 is the Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show. Here we find ourselves providing an option for travel lovers who may be looking for something a little closer to home. Experiencing new and far away places is something we all should do as much as possible, but at the Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show, we encourage people to also experience their own backyard. Our region is merely an hour from Ottawa, an hour and change from Montreal, and an hour and half from Kingston. Those are three major markets that we feel we can offer great experiences in a quieter, more serene location than the bustling city.
Cornwall and the Counties is a diverse travel destination that is well equipped to host family vacations, romantic getaways, outdoor adventures, and everything in between. We enjoy being able to talk to people at this trade show who have travel intentions, but may not have considered the benefits of experiencing the greatness that awaits only a short drive from their homes.
Can’t make it either trade show? No worries, we are always eager to talk about our region and help you plan your visit. Visit our Visitor Information Centre or give us a call for more information.
Christmas spirit is alive and well in Cornwall and the Counties as Upper Canada Village's Alight at Night and The Alexandria Festival of Lights prepare to light up the region with their spectacular displays of Christmas lights.
One of the most fascinating displays of culture occurs at the Akwesasne International Powwow. On September 6 - 7, celebrate the traditions of the First Nation people.
