Cornwall and the Counties takes a step back with “Passport to Our Past”
Cornwall, ON – June 17, 2014 – Cornwall and the Counties will be changing up the annual discovery weekend of Doors Open for the region. The event, which is now known as Passport to Our Past, was held in September, but will now be held on June 21-22. This schedule change allows for each location to make use of summer students and volunteers, relieving much of the strain that opening their locations for the huge influx of visitors can cause when help is limited. 18 historical sites and architecturally significant locations will be taking part in this year’s event, and everyone is encouraged to take advantage of this outstanding event which allows visitors to see our region’s history that isn’t always available throughout the year.
For a complete list and map of participating locations, and opening hours for each, take a look at the pdf brochure below.
Christmas spirit is alive and well in Cornwall and the Counties as Upper Canada Village's Alight at Night and The Alexandria Festival of Lights prepare to light up the region with their spectacular displays of Christmas lights.
One of the most fascinating displays of culture occurs at the Akwesasne International Powwow. On September 6 - 7, celebrate the traditions of the First Nation people.
