This house encompasses the original 1784 "poteaux sur sol" cabin of loyalist Peter Ferguson, as well as the 1804 house of Rev. John Bethune (the first Presbyterian minister in Upper Canada) and David Thompson (one of Canada's earliest mapmakers). The Ontario Heritage Foundation restored the property in the 1980s after conducting extensive research.

Cette maison comprend la cabine originale " poteaux sur sol " bâtie en 1784 par le Loyaliste Peter Ferguson, ainsi que la maison datant de 1804, du révérend John Bethune (premier pasteur presbytérien du Haut Canada) et de David Thompson (un des plus premiers cartographes du Canada). La société patrimoniale Ontario Heritage Foundation a restauré la propriété dans les années 1980, après avoir poursuivi des études extensives de recherches.
