Parks and Outdoor Activities
Take some time to visit the region’s parks, which are amongst the most beautiful anywhere. Most parks are well equipped with play equipment and sport courts for children of all ages. Spend some time at the largest waterfront park in Eastern Ontario, which includes the iconic Clock Tower, historical plaques, a boat launch, a children’s play structure and splashpad, a rotary outdoor gym, the Cornwall Community Museum as well as other sites of interest.
Guindon Park is comprised of 500 acres of land with picnic areas, hiking trails, children’s play structure, waterfront areas, boat launch and dock, and more. It is easily accessible all-year round. The park is separated into three areas: The Eastern Entrance, Floral Drive, and Trillium Drive. Guindon Park now includes a BMX Track!
The Long Sault Parkway is a series of 11 islands that were created from high points of land left after the flooding of the St. Lawrence River during the construction of the Seaway in the 1950’s. These islands include parks, campgrounds, beaches and more!
Go back in time and visit this 19th century village where you can experience life in the 1860s.
The sanctuary covers 9,000 hectares of a variety of wildlife habitats, including: a mature upland forest, early successional woods, old fields, wetlands and open water.
At Prehistoric World, you’ll witness over 50 life-sized reproductions of dinosaurs in a natural wooded setting.
