Jack o’ lanterns, costumes and candy – what’s not to love about Halloween?

Halloween lovers can get an early start on the celebration this year with a pair of spooktacular family events in Downtown Cornwall on Saturday, October 27th.

Get the family in costume and enjoy some trick-or-treating, cool shows, visits with superheroes and more!

Halloween ComicFest 2018

10 am – 5 pm, Cornwall Civic Complex

The Halloween ComicFest returns with a bigger lineup of fun than ever before. Enjoy a full day of treats, cosplay, prizes, special guests, exhibitors and more family fun.

Kids – and adults of course – can dress up in their favourite costume and enjoy a market-style event with exhibitors selling geeky merchandise and trick-or-treating for the kids. Fantasy Realm will be giving out free comic books and costumed attendees can enter The Greatest Halloween Costume Contest Ever.

On top of that, there will be a celebrity guest in the form of Hannah Levien, star of the Freeform series Siren. And there will be lots of photo opportunities with superheroes like Batman and cosplayers like the popular Estrada Sisters and Aero Cosplay along with displays from the Ottawa Chapter of the Doctor Who Society of Canada and many others.

Admission is only $2 and children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.

The event runs from 10 am to 5 pm in Salons A,B and C of the Cornwall Civic Complex.

For more information, check out the Halloween ComicFest Facebook page.

Halloween Hunt

10 am – 12:30 pm, Cornwall Square

Enjoy some trick-or-treating and a cool science show at the third annual Halloween Hunt at Cornwall Square.

During the morning, children in costumes can go trick-or-treating for some special treats from merchants inside the shopping mall. The treating runs from 10 am to 12:30 pm and participants can get details at the centre court of the mall.

The event will include a free Mad Science Fire and Ice Show at the Halloween stage at centre court. And don’t forget to get your picture at the special Halloween display!
