St-Hubert Cornwall setting a golden standard

St Hubert

When it comes to St-Hubert, you don’t have to go very far to appreciate the establishment’s record of success.

Just inside the main entrance of the Brookdale Avenue eatery stands a display case filled with community and corporate awards honouring the restaurant. And there’s another one to add to the nearly-full stand.

The Brookdale Avenue restaurant was recently awarded St-Hubert’s Gold Award as the best overall location within the franchise, which features 126 locations in Quebec, New Brunswick and Ontario. The recognition is based on a combination of unannounced visits from corporate inspectors as well as mystery shopper, consumer survey and employee survey results.

It’s an amazing achievement but even more impressive when you consider it’s the restaurant’s sixth Gold award, on top of also having won a Silver award and three Bronze awards. That’s a total of 10 awards over the past 12 years.

Needless to say, the Cornwall St-Hubert has set a gold standard.

“We’re thrilled with these results and we can’t thank our employees enough for their hard work, positive attitude and amazing work ethic,” said franchise owner Karen McMillan.

In what has become a bit of tradition, the restaurant celebrates the achievement by hosting an employee appreciation evening with its staff following the corporate convention in November.

A staple on Brookdale Avenue, St-Hubert is a family operation that first opened in 1981. Mrs. McMillan and her partner Lloyd Lalonde took over the business from her parents in 1997 and they have continued to build on the winning recipe of great service and great food.

Today, the establishment has 80 employees offering a full range of dine-in, take-out and delivery options. The restaurant also features several banquet rooms for parties and special events.

As one of only a handful of St-Hubert franchises in Ontario, the restaurant holds plenty of appeal with Quebecers and ex-Cornwallites who grew accustomed to the establishment. It’s also a popular choice with many residents who return time and again.

“Our customers are very loyal and we appreciate their loyalty,” Mrs. McMillan said.

St-Hubert is located at 705 Brookdale Avenue and is open Monday to Thursday from 11 am to 10 pm and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 11 pm.
