Friends for Life Bike Rally
Cornwall, ON – July 26 2017 — The Waterfront Trail will once again be home to hundreds of cyclists from July 30 to August 4 for the 19th Annual Friends for Life Bike Rally. This is a 6-day fundraising event where over 200 cyclists bike 600km, starting in Toronto and ending in Montreal. This rally is to raise funds for the Toronto People with AIDS foundation.
Special activities and themes will be happening on each day of the bike rally. On the 5th day (August 3), the cyclists will make a stop in our very own city of Cornwall. They will have their first break at Morrisburg Beach Park, have lunch at Milles Roches Island, and finally have their second break at the Cornwall Aquatic Centre until heading to Glengarry Park Campground for the night.
Celebrating their arrival in Lancaster, cyclists will stop by Dairy Queen for a Blizzard treat. $0.50 from every Royal treat, Blizzard, or milkshake purchased will be donated to the Bike Rally. Show your support by taking a drive to Lancaster for a cold treat!
On this day, those wishing to disclose their HIV status can do so by wearing a POZ jersey which can be picked up the night of Day 4 from PWA Staff at a designated area. For others who want to show their support, red ribbons will be distributed by Team Leaders.
