Get Ready to Laugh at the Cornwall Comedy Festival
Cornwall, ON – April 5, 2015 – If you’re a fan of comedy —and let’s be honest, who isn’t? —Cornwall and the Counties is the place to be this spring as the Cornwall Comedy Festival hits the stage Friday, May1 – Sunday, May 3.
The Cornwall Comedy Festival brings some of Canada’s top stars and up-and-coming comics together for a showcase of huge talent, at an affordable cost.
The festival is held Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 at Aultsville Theatre in Cornwall, with a third fundraiser show for the Martintown Park held at the Martintown Community Centre Sunday, May 3.

On Friday, May 1 legendary Canadian comedy duo, Bowser and Blue return to Cornwall. This musical comedy tandem are staples on Just For Laughs compilations on Comedy Network and CBC Television, have been nominated for a Gemini Award for their CTV Christmas Special, Two Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire, have headlined events such as the Canadian Snowbird Extravaganza.

Mike MacDonald is synonymous with Canadian comedy and has been making people laugh professionally since 1978. A fixture on Comedy Network’s Just For Laughs, MacDonald has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, The Arsenio Hall Show, and others. He has also had three critically acclaimed CBC and Showtime specials.
After a diagnosis of Hepatitis C and a subsequent liver transplant, MacDonald has returned to his Ottawa home where he is rediscovering just how important life really is.
One of the most sought after comedians on the international circuit, Montreal’s Derek Seguin has appeared on the stages of the prestigious Just For Laughs festival six times and was featured on The Nasty Show, where comics bring their most shocking and filthy material. Seguin has appeared on the CBC Radio’s The Debaters more than 25 times, and also appeared on the CBC’s television program of the same name twice.
Born in Uganda, Arthur Simeon is one of Canada’s rising stars in comedy. Simeon brings a funny, rich and authentic African viewpoint to living in North America and has been featured in the second season of HBO’s Funny As Hell and is a regular on CBC Radio’s Laugh Out Loud and The Debaters. Simeon has appeared at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival 3 times, and featured in Toronto’s NOW Magazine, The Globe and Mail, and The National Post.
As the winner of the prestigious “Tim Sims Encouragement Award” as well as the “Yuk Yuk’s $25,000 Great Canadian Laugh Off” and “Best Stand-Up Newcomer” at the Canadian Comedy Awards, it’s safe to say McEnery is well on his way to stardom. McEnery has recorded an hour-long Comedy Now special that appears on CTV and The Comedy Network, headlined Yuk Yuk’s events across the country, and has appeared on comedy festival stages throughout Canada.
Sam Easton was born and raised in Vancouver Canada. His career started off with a bang by winning the Phil Hartman award. It was presented to him by Dan Aykroyd and judged by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels. He was then nominated for 2 Canadian Comedy Awards for Best New Comic as well as the Tim Sims Encouragement Award from Second City. He has multiple sets on the Comedy Network as well as a one hour comedy special that airs on CTV.

All performances of the Cornwall Comedy Festival are 19+. Beer and wine are available in the lobby of Aultsville Theatre (no food or drink permitted in the theatre), and food, beer and wine are available at the Martintown Community Centre.
Tickets for the Cornwall Comedy Festival are $25 and the Cornwall performance tickets can be purchased at Cornwall and the Counties Tourism, Lotto Kiosk in the Cornwall Square, St. Lawrence Appliance Service and Sweet Tooth Bakery.
