Museums and Historical Sites
St. Andrews WestJust north of Cornwall is the historic hamlet of St. Andrews West.
Here Simon Fraser the famous explorer settled upon his retirement from the North West Co.
The first premier of Ontario, Sir John Sandfield Macdonald, was married here.
Both he and Fraser are buried in the pioneer graveyard in the village.
The village and area contain many more historical sites - a "must see" for history buffs.
