In 1867 a town hall for Winchester Township was erected in Chesterville Ontario. Over the 141 years it has been used as a church, school, police station, firehall and since 1984 has been home to the Chesterville and District Historical Society. This heritage building houses artifacts and archives relating to the history of Chesterville and the surrounding area. Visitors to the Heritage Centre, will see a glimpse of the area’s past and present, as well as feeling the optimism concerning the future. The soiety has recently purchased a microfilm reader as well as microfilms of Chesterville's weekly newspaper, The Chesterville Record. Open tuesday to Sunday during July and August, the rest of the year by appointment.
