The Cottage Blue

20377 Concession Road 5
Green Valley, Ontario

The Cottage Blue was established in 1994, and over the past ten years has built a reputation based on fine quality, innovative ideas, customer service and of course, a sense of fun. We enjoy input from our customers and we always welcome your suggestions, conversation and comments.

A passion for antiques and an admiration for the stories behind them, has very much influenced the style of The Cottage Blue. The pine furniture is reminiscent of pieces you would expect to find in century old homes. Hand painted and rubbed, the soft worn edges and patina, add a casual elegance to any decor. A vast selection of paint and stain colours are available, and although we have a variety of styles to choose from, custom orders are always welcome.

A few years back at the ripe old age of forty five, I realized that many of the furnishings in our home (not unlike myself) could use a face lift - so everything old is new again. With this motto, we began recycling all sorts of items. Sap buckets became unique hand painted lamps, Grandmas colonial hutch became a hand painted country sideboard, old light fixtures became remarkable candeliers and old headboards became interesting benches ... and we just kept going.

The result is, The Cottage Blue is bursting with one of a kind treasures. You are sure to find something for your home, or bring us something you just can't part with but don't know what to do with. We are sure we will think of something!

The rural location of the shop provides a relaxing atmosphere, unless the pet miniature angora goats "Cleo and Clover" have escaped. Not to worry, however, they are only a nuisance with those customers who happen to have grain in their pockets!. Located just east of highway 34 on County Road #18, 10 km north of the Hwy. #401 Exit at Lancaster.

Look for Shirle, sitting out at the road.
